St. Charles

Planning on stopping by St. Charles in June on a road trip with 2 adults, 2 kids under 13- would like to stay close to Historic/Casino district - must be nice with indoor or outdoor pool - possibly breakfast included - any suggestions appreciated - thanks.

Our newest hotel is the Embassy Suites which is #1 in the Trip Advisor ratings, they have the pool & breakfast you're looking for. There is a shuttle that takes you to Main St. for shopping (antiques, gifts, lots of "girly" stuff). As a St. Charles resident I haven't stayed there but the facility is brand-new and well-regarded.

If you have preteeners you might want to check out Dave & Buster's just across the river in St. Louis County. They have a gameroom in back and pretty good food to boot.

There are also some hotels in Earth City (also across the river from St. charles) which were rated well in TripAdvisor, like the Residence Inn on Rider Trail South. If you have boys, this one's practically next store to where the Rams practice field is located.

Embassy Suites is nice but also the most expensive in St. Charles. There are two hotels directly across the highway in the same shopping center as Bass Pro Shops (definitely a love for guys). There is also a new hotel that has opened on the far south end of Main Street that is VERY close to the casino.

The new hotel that just opened on the south end of Main St. is the Country Inn and Suites, which runs about $70 less per night than the Embassy Suites.
