We are still working on our Kansas City trip, and now are looking at around the first of May. What is the weather like; does it get hot early like it does here in NM? Is a little earlier, like late April better?
Thanks

The reality of Kansas City weather in early May is that it can be very changeable. The average is about 75 for a high and mid-50s for a low. It's best to check the long-range forecast on AccuWeather or weather.com before packing.
The metropolitan area is now in one zone warmer than it was 4 or 5 years ago. The last average frost used to be May 15; it is now April 15, and the last two winters have seen above normal temperatures in March and April.
Expect the weather to change quickly, although early May is generally pleasant.
It won't be blazing hot, but should actually be quiet a great time to visit and enjoy perfect 70 something degree weather, if "normal" prevails. Enjoy your trip!
My daughter turns 15 on April 30th. We have ALWAYS worn shorts on her birthday .Usually May is fairly well shorts weather, though be sure to pack some pants and a jacket. Have fun!
