Intercontinental or Raphael after a 16hr airplane Trip????

We are travelling to Kansas City for business on Sunday 21 of October. This is our first visit to this city, and will hopefully not be our last. We would like to stay in the Intercontinental or Raphael, because of the proximity to our meeting. The Intercontinental and Sheraton where the 2 recommendations given by the PA of the person we are meeting. The Sheraton does not look appealing at all, so we are asking about these 2.

We would like to know if anyone can help us with choosing.

We are a party of 6, 1 couple and 4 singles, all on business. We are seasoned travelers, and do so often on business and pleasure and like to stay comfortable rooms that aren't cookie cutter decor, and have comfortable beds. Bar, Lounge & Lobby ambiance is nice but really looking for room quality and excellent staff. Especially after a 18 hr airplane trip to get to Kansas City.

Price doesn't matter as you pay for what you get.

The Raphael hands down. Their restaurant and bar, Chaz, is fantastic. It's locally owned and operated as is the restaurant. More of a boutique style hotel.

Raphael is exactly what you are seeking! Chaz is fabulous as well.

You will love the greeters, and the outdoor seating along the fire pits in front of the hotel are wonderful! You will be walking distance to the infamous Country Club plaza as well.

You will have a wonderful time and I hope upon your return you update us on how your visit went!

Our stay at The Raphael was to say the least SPECTACULAR. The staff, rooms and service are more than we expected.

Glad you enjoyed it! Did you have a chance to dine out anywhere that you enjoyed? KC is known to be a culinary and cocktail city.

Yes, we had dinner at Jack Stack the first night. It was more than memorable with those amazing beans and the succulent prime rib.

Breakfast was in the Chaz and lunch was catered by Dean & Delucca.

For dinner on the second night we dropped by Oklahoma Joe's then round 2 at Gram & Dun. The second dinner was unexpected as we met someone for drinkd and found the menu very interesting.

We are in the restaurant business between the 3 of us we own and operate 9 restaurants. All we have to say is, every single meal was memorable, unforgettable and incredibly well executed; from the ingredients to the preparation. KC is truly a foodies town and has nothing that can't compete with big city restaurants.
