We're visiting KC this coming weekend. We're planning to go to the Jazz Museum/Negro League Baseball Museums, then back to the Blues Room at night for a show. We are staying in the Country Club area. Are we better off driving or taking a cab? Is there anything to do in that area between the time the museums close at 6 and the Blues Room show starts at 8:30?

I'd say your better off driving, might be hard to get a cab when you want to leave, but could if needed. Not much to do in the direct area between close and the Blue Room show, but you could drive 1.4 miles straight west to downtown KC and check our our new Power & Light District. It would be a good place to grab a bite to eat and drink before the show. www.powerandlightdistrict.com/about.cfm

How about a leisurely dinner and listening to light jazz at the Majestic Steakhouse? It is less than a mile away at 931 Broadway. Friday and Saturday evenings they have the Bram Wijnands Trio.
