Want to know about casinos in Kansas City |
|
Can someone give me an overview of the casinos in Kansas City?? When I googled KC, it looks like there are 4. I would like to hear opinions from gamblers about the 4 places. Thanks, Maria |

"FYI, the loss limits no longer apply in Missouri, they ended on Tue 11/4 with voters approving the amendment to eliminate them." Didn't the Missouri vote also put an end to any new casinos in the state???? (just asking since that's what we've been told) Also #5...this is run by an Indian Tribe (think it's the Sac and Fox) so not in the same league as other KC area casinos. I would suggest before visiting the 7th Street, a person could come over to Kansas and visit the Prairie Band (they contracted with Harrah's for almost 10 years before going on their own) since they have the nicest facilities) just about 15 miles north of Topeka. We also have the Golden Eagle and Sac and Fox north of Topeka near Horton, and the White Cloud Casino that is almost to the Nebraska border and northeast of Hiawatha. We will have state governed casinos in Kansas soon and as mentioned, one is slated to be a Hard Rock Casino and near the racetrack/Legends area at I-70 and I-435 area.

Yeah, they capped Missouri at 13 casinos (including the one currently under construction South St Louis. Only way to get a new facility now would be to either purchase an existing one and close/remodel, or wait for a couple to go bankrupt or otherwise close (likely the Isle of Capri...which of note finally removed the last of their old coin machines so they are fully ticketed now). Only thing about the closing issue is a few years back they wanted to get a resolution that would prevent a closed casino from selling their license to another company....not sure if that ever made it through or was tucked into some other legislation to get it passed. My ranking of the casinos in my original reply is how I rank them in terms of my preferences (to the person who asked for a breakdown of the 4 actual KC casinos).

Thanks for that additional info...we were in KC last night and dealers also told us we could share chips now too since there was no longer a limit. I will be interested to see what happens with the Isle since it's a great location but one we rarely visit.

We go to KC alot usually stay a Harrahs since wife is diamond card holder. The rooms in Las Vegas tower are nicer and a little bigger too. They did just close there pool last month. We have stayed at Ameristar and Argosy also Argosy's rooms were the best 42 inch plasms, rainshower heads in a big shower. The Isle is where my wife and I seem to have the most luck. They have $5 blackjack all the time, but no poker anymore. GO JAYHAWKS
