thinking of driving to Tunica and staying at Horseshoe Casin

I am thinking of driving to Tunica rather than taking Amtrak and getting off at Memphis. Then we would stay at Harrah Horseshoe Casino???? Are there things to do in that area in driving distance??? And does anyone know how the pool is at Horseshoe Tunica???

Thanks

Were you planning to take Amtrak to Memphis and then rent a car? Also, one thing I always want to make sure folks realize is that the Tunica casinos are spread out. Its not like Vegas, where you can walk from place to place in a few minutes. Roadhouse, Horseshoe and Gold Strike are located next to each other, with sidewalks connecting them. Also, some folks walk across the top of the tevee to Ballys from there. Hollywood and Resorts are located next to each other and those are across the street from Sams Town. Fitz is in a somewhat remote location. Also, note that Harrahs Tunica closed last month. So, disregard anything you read about activities there.

There's not much to see in Tunica other than the casinos. There is a really nice river museum located near the Fitz Casino. The actual town of Tunica has an old fashioned town square with some antique shops, etc. Also, Memphis is only about an hour away with plenty to do here. There's also some other days trips you could take from Tunica including Clarksdale, with its famous juke joints, Oxford, etc.

I've never used their pool, but here's a photo of it.
