which casino in Tunica

Planning a one night stop in Tunica in May. Can anyone suggest a nice clean casino, and decent gambling would be a plus!

Thanks

The only two casinos we don't care for in Tunica are Resorts and Ballys. Harrahs is the largest casino. Gold Strike, Horseshoe and Roadhouse are right next to each other, making it easier to enjoy three different properties without having to drive. Sams is right across the highway from Hollywood and Resorts. Even though its a highway, you can walk it because the highway ends by the casinos, making it not very busy.

Are you looking for something in particular that might help in suggestions?

We've personally stayed at Hollywood, Sams, Gold Strike and Harrahs. All those rooms were fine. We have friends who stay at and like Fitz and Horseshoe.

Note that Harrahs has three towers; Casino, Veranda and Terrace. Only the Casino tower is attached to the casino building and the rooms in that tower tend to be much more expensive and hard to get because they are often held for the big spenders. The other two are served by 24 hour shuttle service. We've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for one of those shuttles and it only takes about 5 minutes to get from the hotel to the casino. Ballys hotel is also detached from its casino building and is serviced by a shuttle bus.

As for decent gambling, they all provide plenty of slots in all denominations. For lower table limits, check out Hollywood, Sams, Resorts, Fitz, Roadhouse and Ballys.

The Gold Strike is aways clean and friendly. As for luck, it runs hot/cold.

Sam's Town has rep for decent gaming although the place is smaller than most of them and the rooms aren't great. I have stayed in about 5 different casino/hotels there and I highly recommend the Horseshoe for your first stay. They just remodelled over the past few years and the beds were the best I've ever slept in. the TV's were nice new flat screens. The place is big and it's really hopping on weekends. On one stay here I brought my fiance and they upgraded my room to a sweet which was just fantastic. There was a 40" TV in front of the King-Size bed, another in front of the couch and then a small tv in the bathroom in front of the jacuzzi tub. The place next door is called Tunica Roadhouse and it used to tbe the Sheraton. I haven't stayed here but the pics look like it is a lover's retreat now. I think all the rooms have a king bed and tub right in the bedroom, but i'm not positive.

The Roadhouse is more of a lover's retreat! There is a jacuzzi in the main part of the room. Also the wall between the jacuzzi and bathroom is glass, as well as the bathroom door and shower door. Their Casino is very small, and not much food to choose from. However the Horseshoe next door is their sister hotel, so you can just hop over there to play and eat. Roadhouse is cheaper and could be nice for some, Horseshoe costs a bit more.... bottom line both are also part of the Harrahs family.
