Trip report

Here is our TR.

Stayed at Roadhouse Thurs. ( only comp we got). They were charging the public $195 per nite Thurs and 280 for fri and Sat. Don't know how the locals can afford this each weekend.

We did good at the VP bar. Of course James, Roan, Pete and Shawn are great bar tenders and help make the night entertaining.

Checked out Gold Strike and Horseshoe. No changes there except the rear bar at Goldstrike had new machines. Most were multiplay machines. Did not do well at either of these places but the band at Horseshoe was really good.

Fri and Sat at Ballys were as diffrent as day and night. Fri was fun with lots of folks visiting while playing and telling stories and having a good time. We hit lots of good VP matches and did very well. The bar tenders are new but nice and take good care of the customers.

Now Sat was another story. The place was packed. People were there for the free. Slot play drawings. They just sit around in chairs not playing. Just blocking players from playing. Some would put a dollar in a machine just to get free drinks. They didn't talk just sit and listened for their name to be called. Very odd.

We did not win on Sat. Guess we were carrying the place for the money being given away,

At least we know not to go on drawing nites.

The buck meals were easy to earn and we ate free.

Still really enjoy tunica but that will be it for this year.

Some of my friends just got back from Vegas. They didn't win this time but they do on occasions. They like Horseshoe the best. Come back to visit again soon.

Thanks for the report and glad you had a good time. I see the local paper is reporting that in MS, river casino income is down about 11% in July 2012 from July 2011 while again coastal casino income is up. It seems to me that the river casinos are going to have to do something to boost business

We enjoy the music at Horseshoe, but don't particularly like playing there. Of those three there together, we prefer Roadhouse. Is their hotel nice? My Mom used to stay there a lot when it was still the Sheraton, but we've never stayed there.

Yes the rooms are all suites and very large. The have very large jet tubs in-between the bedroom and bathroom.

The bathrooms are very large also with a separate shower and toilet room.

Guess Roadhouse is #1 and Sam's Town #2 for us.

We like to play at Roadhouse, Fitz and Sams, and occassionally Hollywood. Have you ever stayed at Gold Strike? The rooms are nice and the view is great if you get a room on a higher floor.

No have never stayed at Goldstrike. We get 29 rates for Sun - Thurs but have not used them.

Thank you so much for your report. It really does sound like you had a good time!

We've already talked about staying at Roadhouse on our next trip. Those rooms look amazing online, and we love the casino.

We already received an offer directly from Horseshoe, followed by an invitation from VIP for 2 free comps in October. I don't think that will work though, as we will only be getting home from Kansas (seeing our daughter) on October 10th. The charter leaves on October 11th.

The good news is that they now go every other month. :-)

Thank you once again for sharing.
