Biloxi Beaches

This will be my first time in Biloxi in June. I will be in New Orleans but I am considering driving to Biloxi to get some beach time in. Can anyone tell me there experiences with the beaches in Biloxi? All I can find are reviews from 2007 or 2010. If the beaches are nice can you recommend a nice spot to go to? Thanks

Beaches are nice -- are you just going to drive over for a day trip? In that case you would only need to drive over to the nice town of Bay St Louis, or just over the bridge to Pass Chrisitan. Great restaurants and miles and sand. But if you're looking for attractions, casinos, jet ski rentals then Biloxi would be a better choice. Here are some pictures of the Gulf Coast area from a local photographer: http://www.naturallynorth.net/Printing/Current-Printing-November-2012/26523467_s9kDBq#!i=2417583965&k=mWcB4NK

The beaches are very nice. There are several spots along Beach Blvd. in Biloxi where you can park next to the beach and you can rent chairs, umbrellas, jet skis, and various water toys.

I agree with "the squid," if all you need is beautiful beach, don't waste more time driving farther than Pass Christian area. We had a great lunch there recently at Shaggy's. All along the coast, you can park in little parking areas right on the beach along hwy 90. If you do venture farther, don't forget to look for the stump carvings in the grassy strip between the lanes. (These may be west of PC also but we didn't drive that stretch.)

the beach areas mentioned are all nice. Just remember New Orleans traffic is bad at any time of the deay so allow for that. There is a nice ship excursion in Gulfport called ship island you can google it. But the beaches along the strip are great also. Lots of great places to eat. water sports are fun. BRING LOTS OF SUNSCREEN if you are not used to the heat and sun. Hope you have a great time.

My husband, 1 year-old son and I are also planning a 3-day add-on to a trip to New Orleans, and want to stay beach-side for a few days. We were considering Biloxi or Pass Christian. We just want relaxation and good restaurants, and it sounds like people are recommending Pass Christian over Biloxi. We are definitely NOT casino people, but would like some variety in restaurant/activity options.

The original question was asked about getting in some beach time during a day-trip while staying in NOLA. I don't know that PC has what you're looking for, Sunsetblues, but asking separately in a new discussion would get the best and more numerous answers from those who do know. Have fun!

Sunset.. you might want to look at additional restaurants in Bay St Louis ..just over the bridge..has more of a town center...all being re built after Katrina (the beach there is not quite as nice as PC)

I beg you to continuously add sunscreen to the child

There are a couple of hotels on the beach in the Long Beach/Gulfport area just west of Biloxi- HIE and a new Wingate Inn.
