looking for dinner options in Red Wing

We'll be in Red Wing Friday night. I'm looking for a casual and reasonable dinner stop. I'm not looking for anything pricey whatsoever. $10-12 per person maximum. Do you have suggestions for good food in this range or less for a couple? A nice atmosphere and not too noisy (and not a bar) is preferred. Thanks for any input!

Well my husband and I stayed at a B&B in Red Wing last year. We ate lunch at this place called staghead. I remember the walls being brick and the sandwiches we go were HUGE! I am sure that place is in your price range.

There is a casino in the area which probably has a huge buffet for that price mid week as well.

Yeah, the buffet at Treasure Island is OK. Better than many. I jsut can't figure out when they did the renovation why they did not add a decent Steakhouse type upscale restaurant. The coffee shop there sucks big time.

Ther Veranda Restaurant at the St. James Hotel might fit the bill but while they are open until 9pm they only list a lunch menu. www.redwingrestaurants.com/verandamenu.htm The Port restaurant is also nice but probably outside the price range.

Try Bierstube RW's, I did a review on it this summer. Casual inexpensive and good food. Really not a huge selection of choices in this area. For the money you are interested in spending this will be a good choice for you.

we opted to dine close to the Sheldon where we took in a show so we tried Staghead. At first the prices almost sent us out the door (entrees/wine lists) but we found the good part of the menu and enjoyed a philly/chicken ceasar salad. Both were excellent and we enjoyed the cheesecake with raspberry topping. It was a decent atmosphere and quiet atmosphere so we caught it at a good time (5PM). We will definitely go again. Thanks for the suggestions, had I seen any of those close to the venue we may have stopped there. Thanks again, I'll use the rest for future reference as I love the area anyhow so we'll return.

how's Bierstube's for kids? We'll be back in town and want to give this a try but will have the kids dining with. Thanks for any input.

It was totally fine for kids. My 15 year old was with us, but certainly kids of any age would be fine.

thanks.

We ended up on Brickhouse on Main St. It's newer, at least in ownership. They have good pizza. We enjoyed the place. Good eats~
