Traverse City New Year Eve

Good article on what's happening in TC, including a pretty, cool picture of the CherryT Ball Drop. We hope to get to TC for this if the weather is ok. …wordpress.com/2012/…

Good info for all the visitors in town or those thinking about joining us for the night. A couple of additions/updates to the article...Unless I missed it, they didn't mention the State Theatre, which always presents a "family friendly feature". This year it's "All You Need Is Love", slated for 9:30, set to end so that people can exit and watch the Ball Drop. But if you want to stay inside, you can watch that "other one" over in NY City.

Phil's On Front will have Elizabeth Rivers and Al Jankowski, though Miriam might very well show up. They're all really good, and it's a great spot to go before or after the countdown. We're going to spend a chunk of time at Union Street too, with Funktion, one of the very best bands around. Dance-happy beats set to original material. They're fun!

Finally, the weather forecast looks great, but it will be crowded. If you're not up to any of that but still want to watch, it'll be televised on UpNorthTV...and also live streamed. Enjoy!!

And I do want to add - For anyone planning to show up, please remember it's called the Cherry T Ball drop, as in charity. The event is free, but all are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items (or cash). If they do things as in the past, there will be donation stations at the main street entrances.

Looks like lots going on in TC playa. Lots to choose from.

Also, Shanty Creek-Summit has free night skiing with fireworks, or how about the Charlevoix "Bridge Drop"?? Sounds fun to me.
