Will it still be a Holiday Inn?

As a long time member in there priority club we have noticed that a lot of the non express HI's have been old and in need of updating and have noticed a lot of them through out the country have been sold only to turn into another brand. We have please with most of the HI express' we have been to.

One thing TC needs IMO is more options for staying close to downtown so you can walk a little more... but doesn't stop me from coming up often :)

I believe their renovations will happen in April if I heard correctly and there is a lot to be improved... It still smells like smoke from when it used to allow smoking and if you do stay there you will want to request a higher floor room away from the nightclub on any days it is open because you can hear the bass in the rooms close to it. Also, the service at Wingers Sports Bar is a real hit or miss...I have frequented it quite a few times (note: there is a $10 off coupon in the Traverse City Coupon Books for it) and have found that sometimes it takes forever to get your food even when they don't appear to be busy.

Also; the clientele on the weekends is a bit questionable... A LOT of drunk people! There was even a time I saw a girl passed out in the hallway right down the steps from the front desk near the club area. Not good :/

Next spring is the scheduled completion date for the renovations, not the start date. Rooms, the lobby, and Shimmers, at least according to their website...and a rumor towards the Patio too. We'll see.
