The U.P is perfect for motorcycles! Altho we dont own one, we love St Ignace and the U.P. There are many routes up to the Sault, one we enjoy is 129 north from the Hessel area. We have also taken 123 from just north of St Ignace all the way up to Whitefish Bay. I dont know the name of the road but it runs east off of 123 south of Paradise. You follow the bay back towards the Sault, via Bay Mills Indian Reservation. Nice lighthouse to stop at before the reservation. There are lots of things to do, depending on your interests. Kewadin casino's in St Ignace, Hessel and the Sault. Bay Mills also has 2 casino's. I would suggest driving west on highway 2 to do a big circle tour. Cut north and visit the Curtis area, then stop in Newberry at the Oswalds Bear Ranch. Head back to St Ignace via 28 and cut down 123 back to town. Stop alongside Lake Michigan at the sand dunes on US 2 about 10 miles west of St Ignace. Stop and do some hiking on the North Country trail. Shop downtown St Ignace.
