Tahquamenon Falls State Park - Bugs/Flies?

We are getting ready for our summer camping trip and this year to TAHQUAMENON FALLS STATE PARK. Has anyone been there in the past few weeks and can report on the Horse Fly status? We have heard these can be a real downer for a camping trip. If you have been there recently can you detail for us your experience and any recommended preparation we may need to take to avoid having a bad time with the biting bugs?

Sorry, I won't be up in Paradise for another month. I've been going to Taquahmenon for 25 years, and horse flies have never been a concern for us. I wouldn't expect much of a mosquito problem either because it's been so dry this year.

The only times we've had problems with biting bugs has been with beach flies at the mouth of the Two-Hearted River State Camp Ground on Lake Superior. Drove us right out of the park in two different years.
