Weekend in Harbor County

Heading to Greenbush Brewery for my birthday, but might make a weekend out of it. What else is recommended in the area? I've been looking at New Buffalo, Union Pier, and I really want to go to Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks. I'm kind of thinking lunch at Greenbush, just because the menu is mostly sandwiches. So where else should we eat? Or do? Besides the beach and eating and drinking is there anything worthwhile in any of the towns? We are going March 30th..who knows what the weather will do in March. Gravity Winery looked interesting too in Baroda. What does New Buffalo offer at night...is this the best town to stay overnight? I saw the creperie...yum too bad it's open until four only...sounds like a great dinner dessert. Bentwood Tavern seams to be the most promising for a somewhat nice dinner. Is there anything better?

I would stay in New Buffalo... the best bar in town is still closed from a fire last fall. But that said, you can drive out to Union Pier (about 5 miles) for the Red Arrow Roadhouse if you want a bar. Otherwise, I would suggest Brewsters or Timothy's... those are your best bets.

At night there's always the casino. During the day, hit up some of the local wineries.

Ok, thank you for the reply. I did come across the Stray Dog in my research and saw that it burnt down..sounded like a cool place...especially the roof deck. I think we are booking a hotel in New Buffalo for the night, maybe something with a view of Lake Michigan. Has anyone been to Round Barn winery? I'll take a look at those restaurant's you mentioned. Has anyone really liked the restaurants/ bars in the casino? That steak house had some salty prices.

The seafood place is good... but not worth the price. If you want a good steak, you'll want to hit up Grand Mere in Stevensville or Timothy's. You can drive up the Red Arrow Highway and shop, eat and stop at some of the bars or wineries.

Personally, I like the Round Barn and Tabor Hill the best... but there are other wineries in the area that people say are just as good.

Any experience at Jimmy's Bar & Grill in New Buffalo or The Terrace at the Grand Harbor or whatever. Looks like they have fire pits outside too, which would be a highlight for me.
