Inlaws vacation

Help is needed......heading to Frankenmuth for a day, then heading to Mt. Pleasant to visit Soaring Eagle Casino, then we will be heading back home to Canada. We will be booking 2 nights in Frankenmuth? Mt. Pleasant?........where and reasonable. Any suggestions on where to stop and visit or something to do........in-laws are in their 70's. Need to keep busy.....any ideas would be most appreciated.

Are you asking if you should stay in either Frankenmuth or Mt. Pleasant? Do you have a specific budget per night? Will you need two rooms or one or a suite?

The two cities are about an hour apart. If it's not too much of an inconvenience to re-pack, you may want to stay in each city.

Along with the "downtown" touristy area of Frankenmuth, the near by city of Birch Run has excellent outlet shopping. You can easily spend an entire day at the massive mall.

Since you haven't mentioned a budget, I will go ahead and assume you don't have one.

While sometimes expensive, the Bavarian Inn is the best place to stay in Frankenmuth. There are restaurants on site, as well as a pool and a lounge (small but still fun). They also offer suites and various vacation packages.

Also, Soaring Eagle casino has a resort hotel. If you plan to spend time there, and your budget permits, it makes the most sense to stay on site.

Yes I am sorry, we are on a budget.....I wanted to stay at one of the authetic German Hotels and I think we will be staying at Frankenmuth Motel, however saying that I am not scimping on the tourist attraction traps!

Just so you know, none of the hotels in Frankenmuth are really "traditional" German hotels. They are decorated in a german style... but they aren't that different from any holiday inn.
