We have been in the summer & love, love, love Frankenmuth. What about January? Last time we stayed at Zehnder's splashworks hotel & had a fantastic time! It was well under $200 last time & for the weekend we are going they want $309/night. It was a couple years ago but was wondering if it's possible to get a better rate if you phone directly? We will have 2 kids ages 13 & 3 to entertain. Is there anything to see & do in the winter?

They have a FAn Friday night tonight with family suites for $199. See the website coupon page. The only otehr deal that I have seen for Zehnders is a BOGO half-day waterpark pass. However that only applies if you are not staying at the hotel. The rates will be significantly higher on MLK weekend. I have seen some Friday nights fro around $250 but it depends on what events are happening. Other than shopping, Bronners and the waterpark there is not much else going on in the winter. There is a bounce house type place at the Birch Run outlet mall.
Thanks. We are looking at going next Sat..jan 20. The basic room is $260 ! The last time we stayed there was in Aug a couple years ago and it was $100 cheaper for a bigger room. I was expecting prices to be similar in mid jan since there isn't much going on in Jan.
Have you checked rates for the Bavarian Inn? It's the same type of hotel.
