Brand New beautiful Double Tree Hotel on the river front. Right across from Veteran's Park. (walking paths, lots of scenery) You can walk or drive to the best places Bay City has to offer. I did a google search and came up with this link below. The hotel address is 1 Wenonah Park Place... Red Lobster on Wilder Rd. by the Mall, not far away... very well run... Lone Star etc out there too. There are places in and near the hotel as well. I'm sure the locals can tell you more. As I think of it, there are several nice looking bars/eateries not far away, on both sides of the saginaw river, just havn't been in them. We enjoy visiting and fishing in the area. Took a peek at the hotel recently and it's LoVeLy... anyway, I know you said cozy getaway, but I gotta believe this would be splendid ..... lol ....

PS. If you have never been in this area before, you will find it enjoyable driving up either side of Saginaw Bay. One side up to Tawas area, or going directly East from Bay City, up to Pt. Austin and back. Little towns, different sights, variety of beaches, parks and the like, and terrific views of the Bay.
