Earle Road Beach

Anyone know if this is any good for a 4 year old? Or would we be better off at a motel near the Nantucket Sound Beachfront in Chatham (a full featured beach...dont know the name of it..

The beaches off of route 28 in Harwich and Chatham are all Nantucket Sound beaches. They have pebbly bottoms. Sometimes they can be a little seaweedy.

At times there are waves that can swell a little bit but nothing like the huge waves more consistent with National Seashore beaches. I think the Nantucket Sound beaches are fine for small kids. Most of them are protected by lifeguards. The smaller neighborhood beaches like Forest Beach in South Chatham are not protected by lifeguards but I think the Chatham beach you're closest to is Ridgevale or Hardings? Both have lifeguards.

Chatham has a little children's beach at Oyster Pond. It's nearly in downtown Chatham. A convenient but pricey choice would be The Wayside Inn in Chatham which would put you a short walk away from Oyster Pond.
