Really no coffee shop in town?

Just returned from a conference in Sturbridge. Was shocked to find that Dunkin Donuts is the only coffee in town. Is this really true?

There are lots of towns here that offer only "Dunkies"...

Starbucks is quickly infiltrating, even Dorchester, which has a Starbucks tucked into the Target (--it's Dorchester, so the final T is definitely pronounced). Some of the convenience stores have "name" coffee..

Dunkies is very Boston...

Many people don't know that Dunkin Donuts has always prided itself as being a coffee shop first, a donut shop second. The name confuses many in this marketing strategy. However, their coffee is of very high caliber and they take it seriously....so if Dunkies is the only coffee shop in town that is considered a very good thing.

No offense to DnD, had have plenty of their Joe. But I need a latte on a regular basis and theirs are just not doing it for me. Plus I was just surprised that a community of this size would not have a locally-owned coffee joint where folks hang out!

there is a really great small coffee shop just minutes from the center of Sturbridge... it is on Rt. 20 in Charlton. It is called Moonstruck. Only 5 minutes east of the Sturbridge Wal-Mart Plaza.

Sturbridge had a small coffee shop/bookstore, but it went out of business about 6+ months ago
