Hotel close to Metro Rail

Visiting DC in April for Cherry Blossom Vestival. Previously stayed in Fairfax VA in a hotel across from Metro Rail Station. Are there hotels in Rockville within walking distance to a Metro Station?

Not according to Mapquest. I also didn't see any on the Stationmasters map on www.wmata.com. Is there a particular reason you want to be near that station?

Hopefully someone more familiar with the station will come along

Try Bethesda instead. There's hotels close to metro and Bethesda has its own shopping/restaurant district.

The only hotel close to metro in Rockville that I can think of is the Marriott on Marinelli Road. Although it's called Bethesda North Marriott, it is actually in Rockville and has an underground walkway to the metro..

Several other hotels in Rockville/Gaithersburg have free shuttles to the metro, so you might want to look into that if you are set on staying in Rockville.

Within the city of Rockville, the Rockville Hilton is adjacent to the Twinbrook station, and the Legacy (a smaller boutique hotel) is just a little further--no more than a 5-minute walk.

#2 and #3 are correct about the other hotels within walking distance on this part of the Red Line, with a slight name correction--all hotels in zip code 20814 (with the exception of the "Bethesda Marriott" on Pooks Hill Rd.) are within walking distance, in addition to the aforementioned Marriott on Marinelli ("Bethesda North").

All other hotels with a Bethesda or Rockville mailing address aren't walking distance--you'll need a car or other transportation to get to the Metro. The better ones will have a shuttle.

Second the advice for Bethesda -- a little more expensive for lodging, but will give you good evening options for dining etc. near your hotel. Also, if the cherry blossoms happen to be in bloom during the festival (which is a more rare coincidence than you might think), you can walk a few blocks down the Capital Crescent trail to the "Kensington" neighborhood, whose cherry blossoms rival those of the Tidal Basin.
