Family biking around Kennebunkport

We will be staying at Nonantum and our girls are still on training wheels. Are there some very easy bike trails for us to explore?

You could check out the Eastern Trail:

Thanks I will study the content of those links. One thing I will research is the possibility of bking from Kbpt to Goose Rocks beach.

Any ideas about how feasible that is for the little ones?

I don't think biking to Goose Rocks would be a good idea, especially as your children are using training wheels. Coastal roads are curvy and hilly, with no shoulders to speak of. The trails I linked are real bicycle/walking trails with plenty of room for error.

Understood. GRB also appears to be around 3-4 miles away not taking into account the curves in the road. We will drive there instead and hopefully arrive early enough to snag one of the parking spots.

Am I correct that I need to get my permit at the police station and if so where exactly is that?

Here's a link to all of your beach choices:

Here's the info about the police station:

I'm sure that the Nonantum can point you in their direction, or perhaps help you with securing a beach pass. (I've never been to the police station.)

If you follow Rte 9 (School St.) to Goose Rocks, you will pass the police station at the top of Crow Hill, on your right. The other spot to get a beach permit is at the Goose Rocks General Store. It's the only store on the only main road. You can't miss it.

As for biking around the Nonantum with children on training wheels, CB48 is correct. Please don't even consider biking on Ocean Avenue; there's just too much traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian. The staff at the Nonantum can direct you to a couple of local (school) playgrounds where the girls can bike and play. The Eastern Trail connects elementary schools in Kennebunk and Arundel, with parking lots and playgrounds at both ends. That would give you all a lengthy ride in a safe place.
