Western Suburbs Birthday Dinner Suggestions

I'd like to find a nice restaurant, country club or community center to celebrate my father-in-laws 85th birthday. I'm expecting 25-30 people including a few children. I was hoping for something scenic or with nice atmosphere. His hearing and eyesight aren't good so a loud restaurant won't work. Any suggestions for a place in the Darien/Downers Grove area?

If you are thinking of a country club, Carriage Greens in Darien comes to mind. I attended an event there a few years ago - nice place but typical banquet food.

If you wouldn't mind going a little farther, consider Maggiano's or the Clubhouse in Oak Brook. Both have good food and could provide a private room.

Agree with Dave that Parker's in Downers Grove might fit your needs. They feature seafood.

Suparossa in Woodridge would be able to accommodate a larger group also.
