Girls Trip

We are planning a girls trip over a long weekend in July. Is Tybee Island the type of place we can park and walk or bike to restaurants and bars and shopping? What is a good location or area of the island to start looking for a place to stay? We really want to stay oceanside so we don't have to walk to the beach.

It is but you may enjoy St. George Island more.

Tybee is very pricey in July __ especially Oceanside. IF you decide to go, and you are looking for time in the sun, very good seafood, some bars and true beachfront, the central and south part of the island is best. There is a beach on the north end, but the Savannah River is on that side, and the ocean is not quite as clean looking. And there are more restaurants and bars on the south end. As far as shopping--- unless you are looking for a surf shop or souvenirs --- not too much. But Tybee does have a certain charm of its own! St Simon's Island has far more shopping, but the beach is longer and better at Tybee.

All the Georgia islands are much less costly and less crowded in September!

Look at Tybrisa for a condo or the Ocean Plaza for a hotel, both are a parking lot from the beach and near the bars restaurants etc.
