from Tybee to Savannah, and other questions

On our last trip to Tybee we went to Savannah by way of a trolly tour. I noticed that there is a cab service on Tybee; would it be cost-efficient to take a cab into Savannah? Our only hesitation to driving in our selves is cost of parking and the hassel of getting around not knowing the streets, etc. How much is parking in Savannah?

There's a shuttle from Savannah to Tybee twice a day for $3/person each way.

There are a number of city parking garages in the historic district. This city website gives all the garage locations and free promotional times for parking: http://www.ci.savannah.ga.us/cityweb/...

Once you have parked, if your spot is a distance from where you need to be, take advantage of the city's free CAT (Chatham Area Transit) Shuttle service to get you closer to the action: http://www.catchacat.org/catchacat/sh... There are also plenty of metered street spaces. You only have to feed the meters between 7:30am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday. The city does not ticket expired meters outside of that time frame. The Visitor's Center at Liberty St. and MLK Blvd has a large parking lot. No charge for parking on Sundays.

There is a city garage at Abercorn just off bay st. It is easy to get to from the beach, and easy to get out of to head back.
