Singer island is under a bit of construction, but it is still nice, and will be even better when done...still some visible hurricane damage...somewhat of an eyesore, but the beaches are beautiful. You will have a good time. If you want to do some good shopping, you want to go to the Gardens mall on PGA Blvd, however need to be in the mood to shop. Otherwise, with a group of people, I would check out City Place. There are lots of eateries and shops in the complex. This is close to downtown WPB. There is a good martini bar in there,(Thursday is ladies night), comedy club, and bunch of other bars and shops-plus lots of places to eat. On Singer Island itself, there is a little strip mall sorta thing that has a few trinket shops for tourists, and then there is also Johnny Long Boats. That is super casual right off the beach food and drinks. Also there is Sailfish Marina and Rest. on the intracoastal side of the island, and over the bridge from Singer Island is a local's favorite called the Tiki Bar. Ask you hotel for directions. This is a laid back Key west kinda joint...very Florida, and great food. Laid back music on Saturday afternoons. I recoomend going here. If you need any other suggestions, please let me know. Have a good trip.
