Lake Worth Beach or drive to Delray or West Palm?

Hi! Staying in Lake Worth for a few days with my girlfriends.. are there any nice areas to go to the beach in Lake Worth or should we just drive to Delray and West Palm? We will be driving anywhere we go and we have chairs but it would be nice to rent an umbrella and walk off the beach to get lunch somewhere.

Any advice on where to go/park would be great! We will have a car.

We are def driving to West Palm and Delray at night to check out the town and grab dinner and drinks.. but looking for day/beach spots!

West Palm doesn't have beaches. It is on the Intercoastal. Palm Beach has the beach. It is across from WPB via the bridge and is up the coast from the Lake Worth area. Palm Beach, the public area, has no services except lifeguards. Parking is on street and costs $5.00/hour. The machines take credit cards. I like going there anyway. I used to be able to park for free a couple of blocks away.

The beach I like best is Juno Beach but that is farther north. They have lots of free parking along the beach and in parking lots. They also have restrooms close by. But you need to go up 95 to Donald Ross, go east to the end and go north.

I have also been to the Lake Worth beach. It is ok. Haven't been to Delray.

WPB has some good restaurants on Clematis Street and at City Place.

Thank you so much! exactly the kind of info I was looking for! Is there anything that lines the beaches in Lake Worth like parking/restroom/food?

I am not the best one to give you advice on this. It has been awhile. Seems like there was a bathroom near the parking lot. Post this again and see if someone who lives there can assist you. I do know there are restaurants on Lake Ave close to the bridge that goes to the beach but Lake Worth is also seedy in some areas.

Head to Delray Beach. Beautiful beaches, plenty of street parking and its not expensive to park. There is also a restaurant across the street, Boston's, and plenty more over the bridge. $5 an hour in Palm Beach is highway robbery and I'm sure they do that to keep people away.

I haven't been to Lake Worth beach in a gazillion years. At the time it was okay but nothing that great. Quite possible it has improved since then though.

I'm going to drive to Delray beach! Seems like the best option and only about 15-20 miles from where I'll be. Thank you very much everyone!

Lake Worth Beach has just recently been completely redone(still construction in parks of the parking lot, but aside from that--finished).. I would recommend going there as well for one of your days since that is actually where you will be staying. They just rebuilt the Lake Worth Casino building that is directly on the beach(not a casino, just an old historical building called that). Anyway, the beach is a lovely swimming beach. In the Casino building is a wonderful pizza place, and excellent icecream shop, Mulligans restaurant(seafood and frozen drinks), as well as a few beach shops. Worth the visit. Also located on the Lake Worth peir at the beach is Benny's on the Beach. It may appear a little run down, but the food is great, and it is a locals favorite. I would not miss Lake worth. If you wanted to then head to another beach on a second day for variety, head south to Delray Beach. Have a great visit.

My daughter lives in Boynton Beach, we visit often. They have several nice beaches, two with free parking. Delray has nice beaches too. More to do in Delray; food and stores. Lake Worth beach is not that great.

HI Everyone! I just returned last night and everything was wonderful thanks to all the info I received. We went to both Delray and Lake Worth Beach and we loved them both. Delray is a quieter, less crowded, not as much very close except Bostons on the beach and 1 other place right next door. Lake Worth beach has everything right there, parking, a few places to eat, ice cream, bathrooms and beach shop that sells umbrellas hats etc... was a little more crowded and diverse, but nothing compared to south jersey beaches lol.

We did not see downtown lake worth but we loved both west palm downtown and delray. delray has more than clematis in west palm but theyre both cute!
