Family Vacation - Things to do

Vacationing with our 2 year old granddaughter, 3 kids and their spouses, us (the grandparents), and a great grandma, too.

We need a few things that will be fun for a 2 year old, but mostly looking for things for the young adults while they have grandparents around to babysit. :) Enjoy water sports (kite boarding, windsurfing, snorkeling), sight-seeing (inter-coastal tours?), etc. We will be staying at Marriott Ocean Point in July.. A few day trips might be fun, too, if you have suggested trips just a few hours away.

We will prepare many meals, but could use some suggestions on places to eat with gluten free menus.

The hotel you are staying at is very kid friendly so you will have plenty to do there. In addition, there is a cool animal park about 45 minutes away that may be worth checking out:

Lion Country Safari. It is something unique from your usual zoo.

Anothr fun this for the entire family to do as a whole is the Diva Duck. It is both a land and sea comical tour of Palm Beach. I even think the 2 year old would be okay on the trip.

Regrading the adults, you will be able to rent jet skis and book parasailing right there on the beach from w/o a problem. The water is PERFECT, in my opinion, that time of the year.

Another option for the adults to do is take a water taxi from the Sailfish Marina(on Singer Island) to downtown West Palm Beach...Clematis Street. There are tons of restaurants and bars that line the strip, and it is a really pretty place to hang out and eat and drink. Below is the taxi website.

(you could walk to sailfish marina from resort to catch taxi)

Also from Clematis, they can take the trolley to City Place, which is only a few blocks away. This is another entertainment complex that has shopping/bars/restaurants. There is a new restaurant that is about ready to open up in City Place that advertizes Glueten Free meals.

I have noticed though that a lot of restaurants down here are starting to catch on, and many of them will offer something gluetin free if you just inquire.

Also, on Singer island itself, there are 2 lively bar/restaurants that both have pretty good food, Johnny Long Boats and Two Drunken Goats. They could walk to and from both of these locations back to the resort.

Have a nice trip.

Great advice! I would add the Tiki Bar/Restaurant just up the Beach at Palm Beach Shores Resort. Fun atmosphere and good food (love the blackened mahi cesar)! Easy walk and the Marriott def lacks good food choice on site.
