I was born and raised in West Palm Beach and lived there until 1997. A couple of years ago I went back for a visit, and could not believe how much things have changed. Some of it sad, but mostly good, and it got me thinking about things that seemed to be always there, but are not anymore. Below are some of the things I miss. Please feel free to add to the list.
Burdines downtown with it's lunch counter
The Hut
Expos baseball at the municipal stadium
Howard Johnson's restaurant
The Palm Beach Pier
The red and white wooden air traffic control tower
The chapel at Morrison Field
Palm Coast Plaza
The Bazaar
Topfer's Bar-B-Que
Royal Castle
The Pennsylvania Hotel
The Paramount Theater in Palm Beach
S&S Cafeteria
The Carefree Theater
Musicana
The Polo Grounds on Congress Avenue
OK, your turn.....
