You would want to go to Sawgrass Mills in southwest Broward County. Especially if you'd like to see the nearby Ikea store.

Sawgrass Mills is a strange thing--several conventional outlet mall buildings pasted together (all indoors and air conditioned) with the usual, often rather ratty, stores. Around the edges are a couple of much more upscale, open-air enclaves.

That's a substantial distance, so it could be worth bargain-hunting at and near the malls in Palm Beach County. I think Palm Beach Gardens would be closest.

Singer Island has very nice beaches with reefs--the limestone kind, with assorted fish, sponges, seaweeds, and whatnot.

Sawgrass Mills is the closest big outlet mall (west of Ft Lauderdale in Sunrise), about an hour from Singer Island. Be prepared for an all day affair if you go - you can't help yourself! Otherwise, the Gardens Mall is close by and has been having some great sales. There is also a SteinMart at PGA Blvd and US 1.

If you are really up for it, Sawgrass Mills. It is an all day affair, and about 1 hour- 1 hour 1/2 from where you are staying South. The hotel can give you directions. Otherwise, a good mall around the corner from where you are is the Gardnes. That is my shopping area, and they do have great sales as well as good variety.
