Rainy day?

Staying at Oceans Reach beginning of March with husband and two daughters ages 2 and 3! In case of rain one day, any suggestions on what to do?!

Some thoughts from a Floridian: March tends to be glorious weather, which of course is why it's prime tourist time down here! It isn't rainy season although of course rain can fall anytime. But your odds are much lower.

And, weather patterns in the subtropics are very different than in other places. Especially on an island or coastal area if it does rain it does not mean the day (days, week, month...) is shot. Usually rain is a transitory weather event. It rains, it clears up. If there is a major weather front coming through the day may stay cloudy and it may even rain repeatedly. But those northern style gray, rainy dreary stretches just don't happen down here.

And last but not least, if it is raining just enjoy your day by:

-sipping a pleasant beverage on the covered patio while you relax to the sound of the rain

-lying around reading a good book

-falling asleep while reading a good book

-going to the book store to browse for some more good books

-visiing the Shell Museum

-going to a movie at the Island Cinema

-taking a walk on the beach to watch the rain falling on the waves.

No worries, rain won't run your day or your trip!
