So can't find insect repellant clothing at LL Bean.com - googled it and found it at Orvis. Here is the link:

It says it is made from Buzz Off and works on noseeums! I will order a piece and be a guinea pig, since the little buggers do not go near anyone else when I am on Sanibel, they flock to me.I think i'll try the sunhat and the bandana.

during the day out at the beach do we need to worry about them ..... i'm freaking out about this little things and the horrible stories!!!

Don't worry about using a repellant for Noseeum's. They will get you, as previously stated, at dusk when there is little or no breeze. We Floridian's just learn to live with them as they are so small they can come right through the screens. They are out all year around and as a matter of fact I was attacked by a swarm of them a few evenings ago when I was gardening. Got in my hair, nose, etc. but that is rare. Fortunately for us we have had lots of rain this season but the mosquito population is up as well. Best thing to do ~ stay in at dusk!
