Shelling on Egmont Key? Always that good or were we lucky?

Back in May, we took a boat from Seaduced Again out of Cortez, FL to Egmont Key to do some shelling. I have always been preferential to Sanibel, but wanted to give Egmont a try for a change. We had a wonderful day on the water & exploring Egmont Key. Seaduced Again has wonderful rates and for those staying in the LBK / AMI areas, their docks in Cortez are very convenient.

TS Debby had just blown through the week before we went, but we wound up finding more shells in one afternoon than we would have in several days at Sanibel during the summer. There was a great variety and the shells were in very good condition as well.

Do you think we were just getting the remnants of the storm? Can anyone give me some info on "normal" shelling conditions at Egmont? We will be on Longboat Key in 2 weeks and would rather go to Egmont since it's closer and we'll only be away for the weekend vs driving several hours to Sanibel.
