I understand all the Johnny Leverocks restaurants have closed in the area. . Has another restaurant gone into the Corey Ave location? That was such a good restaurant and pretty place to eat

You might enjoy Letaherbacks which is in the same general location. We had great seafood, drinks, atmosphere & service. It is on the corner of Gulf and the Causeway.

Johnny Leverocks is back! It's on the right hand side of the road on Pasadena Ave. South just past 22nd Avenue South as you're coming from St. Pete Beach on the Corey Causeway (turns into Pasadena Ave South on the mainland) Don't know if the food is as good as it was, but large crowd was waiting outside on 23 March 2007. Been open about 4-6 weeks at that point. Not waterside any longer, but will try them next time I'm in area.

All the Leverock locations closed, but they have opened a new one in S. Pasadena.

A long time ago ( like in the late 70s and early 80's) the Corry Ave. property was very nice. Nice atmospher and good food. The quality of the food went downhill shortly after. They began to serve all frozen preprepared tasteless meals, and over priced to match. Stopped going years ago , well before they closed. Yesterday, after noticing the new one in Pasadena, four of us decided to give it a shot being new etc... Interior very nice, cozy mostly all booths, upscale-ish decor. BUT after the salad and bread it was a total repeat of a bad meal and bad service of yore! Watiress tried, but it doesn't appear she'd ever herself been where she'd been waited on,other than maybe a Burger King. Appitizer totally forgotton, dinners arrive at table and sent back to sit under heat lamp because one was "wrong". Then $27 for a lobster tail and palm sized portion of rice and cesar salad! The salmon on my trio platter was NOT salmon, crab cake had " real krab" . A mild complaint to the manger, that brought the corrected dinner out, was met with a total look of "what do I do now". He walked away and never came back with even an offer a coffee! If you like freezer to fire food and don't mind paying the same prices here as you could for a very good meal elsewhere, enjoy!

Try Conch Republic - Pasadena Steakhouse - Skidders

all fair prices and a very good meal in this price range!

Just wanted to tell you that we took my dad there, what a disgusting place. look at the letter i just sent to their corporate office, just remember its not like the one on st. pete beach this is for such suckers who want a cheap crappy dinner. and cheap prices but for what i got was not cheap. I own a local resturant in town and we do not serve dung on a plate. Read.

Leverocks Pasadena Ave Aug 28th 2007

St. Petersburg

Time arrived 12 noon August 26

I want to make a formal complaint against your restaurant. We were there on Sunday Aug 26th Logan waited on us. He made fun and jokes at us and told us some funny stories. I think that is not tolerable to do that to people, we come to have a nice dinner and the food was so disgusting that we will never be back her again too.

THE lettuce was wilted and put the Cesar dressing was disgusting and the shrimp was hard as nails. When I got home I had food poisoning I was sick for over 2 days and I went to report you all to the health dept. I never was treated this way. I think that the old Leverocks from years ago was much better. You just can not fool an old person just because you think that we will want to pay low prices. I am not an old person. I have a thriving restaurant locally and I do not serve crap on a plate. I feel that your servers help needs to be retrained too.

Do not send me any Freebees as I am not coming back here. No wonder Ponderosa changed hands it still looks the same. Nothing has changed.

Logan tried his very best to knock around jokes at his customers and My fathers beer on tap had something floating inside it. It was something floating in it, He said Logan. Oh it’s probably the beer is frozen and it floats, well get the man another one; I saw that he repoured it back into another glass. The food was terrible for what I paid 37.40.

Yesterday I had a wonderful Dinner at the Peppermill in Clearwater and the food was grand the help was wonderful and Rocky our server did a superb job not like Logan who cracked jokes to us. This is not to be tolerated when you have business to run. I did not want to embarrass my dad he was my guest for his birthday to attend it here but I did tell him never again will I take you to a disgusting place. He suggested Leverocks; I did not want to ruin his day.

I wanted to tell you this so that maybe next time someone does not choke on a chicken bone and sue the panties out of you.

There are several other good steak/seafood places in the area that are local, and some good chains as well, though they're never my first choice. Sam Seltzers is extremely good, several locations, very reasonable prices. Heilemans (sp?) at Clearwater Beach is very good... etc.. Chains include Longhorn, Outback, etc..

Forget Leverocks - I read somewhere that someone - in the same family I think - started opening again, but I other than the notes above, I haven't heard anything about them. I'll stick with Seltzers.

we ate at leverocks when we were down there in july and we had an excellent meal. yes, it was pricey- $140 (including drinks) for 5 people. 3 people had twin lobster tails, 1 had grilled seafood platter and 1 had the filet. the only thing i didn't like about it was they nuked their "baked" potato and for those prices, it should be a REAL baked potato. service was good, place was clean, even the bathrooms were immaculate! i always check that! the owners also came by and talked to us and asked us about our meal while we ate-which they shoud when paying those prices!

we also ate at sam seltzers on tyrone blvd. while we were down there as we do every year when we go, as it's hubbys' birthday and they give you a free bottle of wine on your birthday. we have them up here too, but the last time i ate at one was last sept up here. don't know if we went on a bad nite, but to me, it seemed that they skimped on lettuce in their salads from what i remember (loaded with red cabbage-yuck). my son and i both got the ribeye and it was SO tough, we couldn't even eat it. hubby had the porterhouse, said it was excellent and my dad says the strip steak is very good too. so, if you go there, don't get the ribeye and you should be fine. everything else was good. price for that meal for 5 was $120, so IMO, i would prefer to pay the extra $20 and eat at leverocks. also, at sam's we had another family of 4 sitting with us and they tacked on a 20% tip to both checks, so if you go in a large group, be prepared for that.
