Hi all we will be coming to Pompano on the 9th May 2014 till 19th. we would like to watch a local sport. Last year we went to see the Florida Marlins but they are away the week we are there and we are not really into Basketball. Is there any other sport worth watching IE, Football, hockey, etc

Would a college baseball team appeal to you? University of Miami usually has a top rated team, often in the College World Series and they are playing home games against U of North Carolina while you are here

There are a few other smaller universities closer to Pompano that probably have baseball at the time- Nova Southeastern, Florida Atlantic and Lynn University would be not so far a drive ( U of M plays in Coral Cables)

In May most professional sports aren't playing regular season games so pretty much you have baseball available. If you haven't been to the Marlins stadium it's very nice. I also found it to be very expensive and not what baseball should feel like, IMO.

The Miami Heat (basketball) and the Florida Panthers (hockey) might be playing then if they make the playoffs.

As Lulu already suggested you have your pick of local colleges that will have sports teams: Univ of Miami, FIU, Barry University, and FAU which would be the closest as it's located in Boca Raton.

Also look into minor league baseball. There's a team in team in Port St. Lucie and there might be one in Jupiter.
