Small town, close to a beach, not too far from Palm Beach.

We are planning a trip to Palm Beach in March. Would love to get an advice, where we can go for three days at the end of our trip. We are family with two kids (3,7). Looking for a small town, close to a beach. We want to take a break from the business a huge city.

My Lonely Planet mentions Jupiter, Stuart, Fort Pierce.

In addition to the locations you already mentioned you should also look into Delray Beach and Singer Island.

Lake Worth is nice. You can find quiet a few vacation rentals with a pool for the kids. Nice and reasonable priced. You would have to drive to the beach.

Jupiter is the north end of the Palm Beach County urban area. It's affluent.

Stuart is smaller and very affluent.

Fort Pierce has a nice, small waterfront and downtown with some good beach areas with condos. Much of mainland Ft. Pierce is economically depressed. US 1 is recovering from many years of looking as though the area had become part of Communist Cuba.

Singer Island is notable for its cluster of big hotels.
