We were off to IOA today, once again got picked up by Mears out the front of POP.
We went straight to Harry Potter, 10 min wait, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this, still not sure but glad I went on it, though I did close my eyes a bit cause I was so scared of them spiders.
We were pretty lucky as it wasn't very crowded here today, but it was hot!!
Spiderman was similar to Transformers, and enjoyed that.
Cat and the Hat made me dizzy lol.
As it was so hot we headed to Bils rat Barges, walked straight on and boy did we get a soaking, but it felt so good, so from here we headed over to ripsaw falls, which had a wait of 15mins.
After we had saw and done everything we wanted we headed back to Forbidden Journey which still had 10min wait, so my sister and kids went on it again, I gave it a miss and just went for a wonder, as I got down to where Ollivanders there were not many people waiting, the guy said I'd get in the next show, so I did that, I actually thought the wand was going to fly out of a box for the chosen kid lol.
Glad I didn't wait 45mins which people were when we first arrived.
We were totally buggered by around 4pm so decided to call it a day, when we rang mears though we had to wait until 5.15pm for a bus, so had a look around citywalk and sat down with a nice cold beer and then hobbled to where we had to get the bus.
Took ages to get back to POP and going to a few other resorts.
We decided we wanted to go to MK again, so got out fass passes organised on line and we were up early and ready to go.
What a shock!! the place was nearly empty, we went on so many rides over and over, you didn't have to worry about fass passes cause most rides had no wait times.
As we never got to got to Be our Guest the other day, I said to my sister lets try today, so we walked up there around 11.15am and walked straight in. The food was pretty good to, we sat in the West Wing. When we walked out the line went for ages and they were handing out umberellas and cold water. Pays to go early I guess, so glad we did it.
We got to do JUngle Cruise this time as it just re opened. We stayed until around 4pm and then my sister said she was going back to POP and me and the kids decided to go to DD to try the balloon. This was a mistake lol
We got the monorail to the Contempary and from there waited 20mins for one of their buses to DD which went to Plantation Resort I think it was first, the bus was one of those old ones, the air con didn't work and the bus driver drove that slow, I was nearly pulling my hair out, all up we arrived at DD at around 5.30pm, and hour and a half after leaving MK.
So off we go to the balloon and ...... sign says to due high winds and thunderstorm looming it is closed, I asked the girl when it would open again and she said come back at 8pm. NO chance of that, so we didn't get to have a go. BY the way, no thunderstom eventuated afterall, so we grabbed a cold drink and had a look at a few shops and then made our way back to POP.
Well we had a early flight out of Orlando, so the previous night we cashed in our unused QS meals , we had 37 meals left!! So we ended up with 37 snacks lol, heaps of bags of lollies, popcorn and cookies.
So now my thoughts...
WDW was fantastic, everything is so organised, my favourites parks were Hollywood Studios and MK.
We really enjoyed our time at the POP Century Resort, everyone we met was very helpful and friendly, The room was very clean, a little small but we managed fine. The pools were lovely and really were only crowded later at night. What is with the Disney lifeguards, it was quite amusing to watch them walking up and down counting and this was even when the pool was empty!!! Very strange.
The food court was pretty good, as I said we had free QS dining, but we could not eat all the food, this was way to much and ended up with 37 meals left which they let us take 37 snacks, Some days we were only eating once a day. So having the free dining sure saved us a lot of money, we only had to pay when we ate out Sci Fi and Planet Hollywood, Universal and Kennedy. We found the food court got pretty crowded around 8pm at night.
The buses, oh my the air con is so cold. Also a few times we were on very crowded buses coming home from the parks and found that people would sit little kids on the seats,or stand them on seats or put their bags on seats, whilst elderly people or people holding sleeping children stood. Would assume you put your kid on your lap and give someone a seat that needed it. I made my kids stand if someone I thought needed a seat.
The buses, yes POP you get dropped the furthest away, which got to be a pain in the butt and sometimes we waited a fair while for a bus. When waiting at POP for the buses there is no shade, and then you have to wait for the scooters to get loaded first before they let anyone else on.
I thought the Haunted Mansion looks better at Disneyland, also Its a Small World, at D'Land you line up outside, so it looks better. The rides are the same though.
Though the castle at MK is magnificent, takes your breath away.
Would I return ?? Well I will say no, due to the fact is is so far to travel to, we also didn't like the fact you have to get buses everywhere, Disneyland might be smaller but it is so much easier to stay across the road and walk in and out , I had a fantastic holiday and so glad I got to visit, but I didn't seem to get that " magical" experience at WDW.
We spoke to people that go 2-3 times a year, if I could do that it would be great, go for a week , see a few things, then go again see something else, take time out to relax at the resort.
Oh yes the weather, apart from the afternoon/night or rain and the night of Fantastmic, we had great weather, some days very hot/humid, so days just right, the evenings did cool down which was great. Not one thunderstorm, was hoping I would see one.
We came home very happy but so very tired.
hope I haven't offended any one with my thoughts and thanks to all that gave me advice on here.
Might head off to Hawaii next year, for a relaxing holiday lol
