Resort Hopping

Hi all!

Love to hop around to different resorts to check them out... their grounds, bar areas, pools, etc. Looking for suggestions for some of the most beautiful in the area that are worth a visit.

(With the realization, of course, that the pools are off limits... we just want to sightsee... and have a drink.... LOL)

Thanks!!

I like to do the Monorail tour-Polynesian for a Dole Whip or Lapu Lapu on the beach, then the Grand Floridian for a little Gilded Age atmosphere and the Contemporary to check out the views and giant mural. From the Contemporary you can take a lovely boat ride over to the Wilderness Lodge and watch the geyser and feel like you're up in Yellowstone. The boat also goes to Ft Wilderness where you can take a pony ride or roast marshmallows and have a sing along with Chip and Dale.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is, IMHO, the most interesting resort with interesting architecture, lots of vantage points for animal viewing and some of the best restaurants in WDW :-)

Happy Trails!

We are going to check out a few on the monorail as well. Got breakfast at the Kona Cafe one morning, then may just ride the rails and see a few other resorts as well, b/f ending up at Epcot.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is great as there is a private animal viewing area. The guard will want to see your ID, but then it's no problems.

We love visiting the beach club, cocktail from the bar, sitting on the beach, toes in the sand, watching the comings and goings on the water and at the boardwalk opposite - bliss :)

Lots at Disney. Our favorite Disney Hotel to see is the Wilderness Lodge. Favorite grounds to visit and walk Port Orleans Riverside. The new Art of Animation with it's large scale character theming is fun. Animal Kingdom lodge unique and notable. And so on and so on. There are also 3 Universal hotels. The Renaissance is walkable from SeaWorld and has an impressive lobby which goes the full height of the hotel with nice inside bar areas and a poolside bar/grill. The Gaylord Palms with its enormous multi themed atrium perhaps the most notable for exploration - it's something to see. You could also visit the town of Celebration with its collection of shops and restaurants set by a large pond-sized lake complete with rocking chairs, walking path, and an ice cream shop. Call in for a drink at the boutique Bohemian Celebration hotel. This is a really charming small hotel. Their quaint lobby projects a different era. Time seems to stand still there.
