Tuesday 23rd October (day 12)
Had decided to go back to MK so I could see opening but turned the alarm off, then all woke up at 8 and wanted to go so we rushed as quickly as we could and got the bus at 8.30 carrying numerous cups to go of frosties and melon and packages of pastries.
We go MK and watched opening cermony, was so pleased we go managed to see it as i love it so much. I ran to get FP for peter pan and met rest of family at BTM. No queues so we rode a few time (DD rode 4 times in a row! She laughed through every single ride). They even let us stay on the back row once as there was no one waiting. The ride is so much better at the back.
DH then chickened out of splash mountain, but the rest of us rode it, I was so wary after getting so wet on MNSSHP but we stayed dry thinking about it we were the only 3 on our boat and so I think because it was light we were higher in the water and so not as much splash. (may be wrong of course but makes sense to me!)
We then did haunted mansion and peter pan before heading to dumbo. We did the ride but then kids made us go back in so they could play in the wait area!
We went back to BTM then (getting that DD loves this ride!) using FP and then had lunch at peco bills. Headed out after that with a dole whip in hand.
We got bus back to beach club to head to the car where DH had put the swim stuff earlier for typhoon lagoon but it had become overcast so we headed to the room for a bit and then when the sun came out went to the pool. DH and DS played ping pong and we all had an easy afternoon before getting ready and going for drinks in the lounge. We then did marshmallows on the beach and then headed to epcot where the kids had fish and chips (AGAIN!)
I popped to Hawaii (not literally!) to get a Hawaiin slider I had wanted to try but disappointingly it was quite tasteless. Then had a tastier grand marnier slushie (AGAIN!). We then watched Hanson and I relived my uni days listening to oohm bopp whilst kids danced like they were on some kind of medication. We headed to china to try the orange chicken but again not up to much at all and then watched fireworks. DD now liking them.
After that it was back to the lounge for desserts and grand marnier hot chocolate which were both very good. Did wonder why we hadn't discovered the desserts and liquers in the lounge earlier in the week. Then headed to bed very full and fat.
Wednesday 24th october (day 13)
Woken at 4.30 by DS being sick, he was then sick a few times more before 8am. The plan had been to go to AK and do lion king as we had missed it the week before and we swore as we both loved AK we would do it twice this holiday. Obviously this was knocked on head so I took DD up to lounge for breakfast and brought some down for DH. I then took a turn looking after DS while DH took DD for a walk which involved a shopping trip to boardwalk and a new handbag ( My 4yr old obviously takes after me!).
By this time it was midday and DS looked a bit better and had kept some frosties and water down so we thought we would go to DTD to pick up some lunch and so DS could have some fresh air. Now luckily I picked up a bag for the car just in case and luckily it was a sturdy universal bag and not a cheap asda/sainsbury bag with numerous holes in because he was sick in the car. Thank goodness for the bag and he was very good with it so no big bills for a valet for the car being cleaned. They stayed in the car while I got us a take away from wolfgang pucks then we headed straight back and DS went straight back to bed.
I then took DD to the pool for a couple of hours swim in the hot tub (the pool was so cold she took to swimming in the hot tub and became quite put out if anyone else was in. How she lasted in such hot water i'll never know). I had a nice chat with some canadian women who had husbands at the conference at yacht club. I also discovered that I should move to canada as dentists there get $165 for a scale and polish rather then the £17.50 I get for scalings and check ups and £48 for however many fillings/root treatments/extractions people need. Not that I'm bitter about working for the NHS!
The women were really lovely though and we had a nice chat, how nice to have a week at beach club while hubby is at a conference. They seemed to be enjoying it anyway.
We went back and DH then took DD to HS so she could do ToT. They came back after a couple of hours with a salad for me from back lot espress which didn't travel well!
DS was feeling better so we had a walk around boardwalk and he had a piece of pizza and we had frozen margaritas which were lovely and then headed back to room.
Not the day we had planned but at least DS was feeling better by the end of it.
