Fed up yet...? Apols if you are! I do go on a fair bit...
Wed 31st ~ happy halloween!
I managed to persuade Mr Earl to do a Disney Day! We opted for Hollywood Studios and picked a day when the park hrs were long so we got the most for our money! Also meant we would do some shopping and then watch Fantasmic.
We paid on the gate and based on the exchange rate on the day it cost £59 each.
We arrived at 9am and by the time we purchased our tickets & got through the bag check etc it was 9:15am first stop Toy Story Midway Mania! Last twice Mr Earl & I have been to Hollywood Studios the fastpasses have run out before we could get one and the lines have been really long! So we managed to get a FP for 1pm. The stand by queue said 40mins, but we waited in it anyway, in Mr Earl's words, it would be a "good queue" meaning interesting with loads of photo ops, and he was right. Loved Mr Potato Head! :) we sailed through and in fact only waited around 15mins! LOVED the ride, we were like a pair of children on it. Mr Earl beat me, but only just! :)
We then headed towards The Muppets. Ok so not the best 3D around anymore and a little dated, but still love it. I have a little crush on Beaker :)
Then on to Star Tours. I knew this had been re vamped a little, but I was expecting more, still enjoyed it though.
Then we went into the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. Between us we have seen this around 12 times!!! Corny? Yep! Enjoyable? Yep! :)
We then mooched around a little have headed to Rock n Roller Coaster. Stand by time said 40mins, but only took us 10mins (the guide times were well out). Love this ride.
Then straight on the Tower of Terror. Wait time said 45mins and this time it was pretty spot on as it took us 40mins. Forgot how many times it drops you! Think my tummy is still up there somewhere!!! Two little ones on the row in front were petrified, bless them. For once someone screamed more than me!!!
We exited just in time to head back to Toy Story Mania to use our fast passes. On within 5mims. Mr Earl kicked my butt this time, you should have seen his face, full on concentrating scowl all the way round! (Maybe I should have been looking at the screens and not him, then he wouldn't have beat me by so much ~ doh!)
It was now 1pm so We then stopped for lunch, hotdog for Mr Earl (who made so much mess with the tomato sauce, it was hilarious!) and chicken tenders for me. Both really enjoyed it.
Over lunch we worked out the timings of other shows and had to choose between Beauty & The Beast or Extreme Stunt Show.... Mr Earl won, stunt show it was. Shame to miss B&TB but hey ho.
We filled the afternoon with various rides and even persuaded Mr Earl to stop and watch the parade! The song is so catchy, stuck in my head all evening much to Mr Earl's annoyance!
We did the great movie ride as Mr Earl has never done it.... I did warn him it was pretty dated. He practically dis owned me when we stopped in "Oz" and they said i wonder which way we should go, so I SHOUTED "follow the yellow brick road" (Love anything Wizard of Oz related, one of my fav films). I think this ride has had its day, re vamp needed me thinks!
As we were missing out on B&TB Mr Earl agreed to watch The Little Mermaid ~ yey! I loved it and sang along all the way through. When my youngest nephew was around 5, we were walking back to car after a day at Hollywood Studios and out of the blue he said "I can sing like Ariel" so we were all like, pardon, what do you mean, and the he sang is a ridiculously high pitch girly voice "I wanna be where the people are" we all just fell about laughing. So every time I hear that line I just crease up laughing. He is 14 now and funnily enough doesn't find it very funny!!
By the time we came out of Little Mermaid it was getting late, so we called in to a few shops and bought some Christmas pressie, Mr Earl and I have a few God Children, so some plush Mickeys will be the perfect gift. also bought myself a mini beaker and we got our poochie a small pluto :)
We then made our way into the Fantasmic theatre and sat down with a hot drink. We were there 1hr 20 mins before show time and it really dragged. The crowd entertainers tried, but bless them, all very cheesy and over the top!
Show was as good as I remembered! Mr Earl had never seen it, only really stayed for me to see it, bless him. Just as the characters came round on the boat, we started to head out and stopped and watched the fire works. Beautiful :)
This meant we had a pretty good get away and managed to get on one of first trams.
Really loved our day, great to see all the children dressed up for Halloween. I think we saw about 75 Buzz Light years!!! We found Disney more expensive for drinks & snacks than Universal. But the food was really nice. It was fairly busy in terms of people mooching around, so were shocked to see so many food & drink counters closed throughout the park. Didn't cause us a problem, just thought it was a little odd.
Out of the car park super quick and we opted for Chilis at Champions Gate as we were both starving, plus Mr Earl could enjoy a beer or 7 as I was happy to drive to the villa from there. After 11 hrs of Disney, Mr Earl needed a beer!!!!
First time at Chilis, both really enjoyed it, good food, huge portions and good service ~ thumbs up!
Got back to the villa around 10pm, pretty shattered so straight to bed! Zzzzz
