I am really struggling writing a TR, since I have been back I have tried but can't seem to fit it all in. So here goes a condensed TR of our 14 night's in Orlando staying at Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando! (please ignore my other 2 TR, its all in here now)
Day 1 - Travel & Hotel.
No problems with parking in Gatwick (we pre-booked) and Virgin flight was stress free. Food was great and the touch screen entertainment was awesome, managed to watched 3 movies and played Bejewelled! Jumped into taxi ($45 flat fee) and arrived at hotel in no time. No waiting to be checked in, was in our hotel room within 15 mins :) - Was a little tired from flight so just walked a little up iDrive and got a pizza from Dominos :)
Day 2 - Seaworld
After a yummy breakfast at Sizzler, we got the Lynx bus outside our hotel straight to Seaworld, takes about 10 mins or so. Arrived at SW about 9.30, very hot day, but beautiful! SW is amazing, the shows, the animals - its one of my fav parks. We did Dine with Shamu, which is awesome, the food was lovely and it was unlimited drink and alcohol too. You get a really informative talk about the Orcas and you are literally feet away from them (request a window seat when booking). It was also the Halloween Spooktacular which was great fun. Being 2 adults we didn't think we could join in, but they encouraged everyone to grab a bag and collect candy. We got loads! Its only on Sat & Sun in October and the park is open later than week days - you also get the chance to see Shamu Rocks! On way back we stopped at the 7/11 so the other half could get a Slurpee!
Day 3 - Animal Kingdom & Hollywood Studios
Once again breakfast at Sizzler and off to Disney! Again another hot day, AK was amazing. The animals and their enclosures were brilliant. The Safari ride, Dinosaur and Its Hard to be a Bug were really cool attractions - Also the birds of wonder was really good. We didn't get to see Finding Nemo or Lion KIng, so we said we would go back and do them. Also really wanted to go on Everest, but BF was having doubts! We find it hard to eat in Disney, so much to do and sitting down eating in a restaurant is just too time consuming lol, so we had a stuffed giant prezial and plenty of soft drinks. Then off to HS, there was one reason for going to HS, and that was Star Tours. My bf is a massive Star Wars fan and we managed to walk straight on, and again, and again, and again! LOL! It was amazing, the night ended watching Fantasmic! WOW it was absolutely mind blowing! and I couldnt get over the amount of people there - FANTASTIC!!!
Day 4 - Busch Gardens
We had to be at Seaworld at 9.15am for the Shuttle to Busch Gardens which meant I had to skip breakfast. My bf had a subway, but I didn't feel like anything. So off to BG we go. It was great, but seeing we are huge animal lovers we didn't do any roller coasters. We found Busch Gardens really cool, but probably wouldn't do it again. Its such a long way and you don't get there until 11, then you have to be on the coach at 6pm. Unless you got a car and can get there early I found the Shuttle time consuming and would have preferred another day in the AK or SW. When we arrived back we went to the Regal Cinema in Pointe Orlando to watch The Dark Knight Rises on iMax. We both had already seen the movie but not on iMax, to our surprise we were the only ones there - So our private cinema for the evening LOL :) - That was very cool :)
Day 5 - Magic Kingdom - My birthday!
This will definately be a birthday I will never forget. First stop was Denny's to claim my FREE breakfast, then off to the MK. We got my Birthday badge at City Hall and couldn't believe the attention I got as soon as I pinned it on. The parade was on as we got to the castle and all the cast members and some characters pointed out to my badge wishing me happy birthday! My BF bought me a gorgeous little Mickey Brownie cake from the bakery and we just had a great time on all the rides. The Jungle cruise was awesome, the cast member made everyone on the boat sing Happy Birthday to me. I will never forget that :) The icing on the cake was seeing the Electric Parade, it was magical - unlike anything I have ever seen before :) - A birthday I will never forget :) One thing that did put a downer on it was the queue for the Monorail home time...argggghhhh!
Day 6 - Outlets & Halloween Horror Nights
Time for a little rest, which ment shopping - we hit one of the outlets in the morning and then prepared ourselves for HHN. We had food at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville at City Walk - Delicious and headed over to HHN. It was so atmospheric, but we noticed it was VERY busy. We really wanted to do the Walking Dead house, but it was a 90 minute queue. So not being up with HHN we queued, and queued and queued....Arghhhh - we finally did the house and it was awesome, but we were tired and after queuing another 45 minutes for Dead End we called it a night. (btw - we managed to walk straight on to the Simpsons ride - which was AMAZING!).
Day 7 - Island of Adventure & HHN
Harry Potter Land YAY!!!!! Was so excited to visit the WWOHP and it didn't disappoint We was worried if my BF would be able to ride the Forbidden Journey because hes a pretty big guy being 6' 4" - he tried one of the test seats before the ride, but no luck...I said queue anyway to see the castle, it was amazing and the attention to detail was outstanding. It was finally our turn and with a bit of force he was strapped in to the normal seats YAY!!!!! The ride was amazing, but we both suffer motion sickness after - it was worth it though :) The Marvel bit of the park is great too, Captain America loved my BF Captain Britain Tshirt and the Spiderman ride was really cool :) - We was walking through Seuss landing about 5.30pm and we happened to see a board say 'Cross over to Halloween Horror Nights at 5.45' - so we did. We sort of went the back way and we were in Universal before 6pm - they said some of the houses were open so we took advantage. We did Silent Hill, Penn & Tellar, Gothic & House of Horrors in 45 mins! We couldn't believe it - the gates for Halloween Horror Nights didn't open until 6.30, but we managed to stumble across this cheeky cut through :) - Going to keep this tip in mind for next year!
So that was my first week - The weather was amazing, only one short shower in AK - But mostly sun everyday! Our fav places to eat were Denny's & Millers ale House :)
Stay tuned for Part 2
