Sun tan lotion, aftershave, hair products etc.... |
|
I hate having to go buy hair products, shampoo's, and other grooming stuff before holidays abroad, but i'm going to america, specifically orlando, surely everything i buy here can be bought over there but cheaper? Here in Scotland, stores like superdrug's and boots have 'but one get one free' deals on at the moment. Do you think florida shops can beat those prices, just cant be bothered with the hassle of getting it here, if i'm going to wal-mart when i arrive anyway? Or buying in duty free when perfume shops over there will oost the prices, i mean i love my girlfriend but not that much...lol Wal-mart should really do online shopping like asda and tesco's!!! Lol Cheeky Monkey! Well, I buy alot of our toileteries out there. We love pottering round in the beauty product aisles of Wal-Mart, Walgreens and Publix etc. As for your post. I can't say for definite that it will be cheaper with the Buy One Get One Free offers you get here. However it is still cheap and we have got BOGOF offers on sunscreen etc in Walmart. Also, it is much more convenient to get things out there. Sunscreen is MUCH cheaper out there. I would wait and get the stuff there for definite. You might even discover some new products that you like out there better than the ones here. Being a female of the species, when it comes to things like makeup and skin care, I find the expensive end products are much cheaper out there - I pay what I usually pay in pounds in dollars. I don't find perfume much cheaper though and my mum even thinks they watered her perfume down as it didn't linger. I tend to take the bare essentials (toothbrush/toothpaste/skincare) and buy things like shampoo and sunscreen when I get there. Have a Wonderful time in Florida!

I usually bring on vacation what I already have on hand. Does me just fine. If you're worried about it leaking in your luggage, you can get some large ziploc style freezer bags and if it leaks, the mess stays contained.

I buy when there and leave what we don't use less to carry around then. Can't say that I've noticed the cost as in the equation of things a few toiletries doesn't really matter but I suspect its cheaper.

Last year we took most thing's with us as it was our 1st trip so wasn't sure, but this year we wil be buying all toiletries out there it's so much cheaper, plus it saves the weight in your case

We never usually bother buying loads of toiletries either. We found that large stores like Walmart, Walgreens, Eckerd/Cvs sold trial-sized shampoos and the like, and found that concept useful, plus there's not much waste, nor extra weight to carry back with you. Oviously, it depends on how many people there are in your group, and, to a certain degree, where you're staying. Some Hotels have their own vast array of complimentary bath and beauty products, but usualy come with a premium.

If you don't like the shampoos, etc. that you are given in hotel you can always save them and donate them to a shelter or we have a program at work where we ship them to soliders overseas. I know it is kind of off topic but thought it was a nice suggestion.

My son has sensitive skin and was allergic to something in Banana Boat sunscreen -- had a rash all over where it had been sprayed -- I had my receipt still, so I took it back to Walgreens and switched it for their brand. I think I saw theirs was buy one get one 50% off either this week or last week. Walgreens DOES have online shopping -- and I *think* Walmart will match any of their advertised prices ... e.g. if you stop in at Walgreens, you can take their (current) sales flyer to WalMart and they will give you the same sale price for the same item. Only $$$ for $$$ -- no B1G1F or %off deals. Wendy

If you react to certain sunscreens get the PABA free kind. My daughter gets a rash from most sunscreen so her doctor swithed her to PABA free.

Last year i remember buying a container of that well known hair removal stuff ( Nair ), anyway it was about $5 which is a great price compared to how much it costs here .Would definetly buy my sunscreens when i get there !.

With the exchange rates being what they are I imagine just about anything will be cheaper here then in the UK or Europe.
