Hi Mike, would you mind telling me what kind of room you booked? I'm also planning to go to SoBe and the Strand is one of my first choices, but I've read that it is noisy due to its location on Ocean Dr. and that the room was full of streets lights at night as there are no shutters. Is this so? Thanks for your input.

CC&Bern, we had no issue with noise, we had the one bedroom unit which faced Ocean Dr. We stayed over a weekend which is very busy, yet no problem with noise, all he windows had double blinds to block out the bright sunshine as well, so no issure there as well. I recommend it to anyone! Have fun!

Good report and I had the same experience staying in

the same kind of room. However, there are four buildings

and I stayed in the C building which is the one where

reception is located. Which building was your room located?

We were in the building right on the corner unit T202 basically one level off street level and a corner unit. The only thing I might change for next time is a balcony unit facing the water right above the restaurant. But that's all I would change.

We just returned and stayed at the strand 8/1 to 8/5 for our first time. They upgraded us from a junior suite to a one bedroom suite

It was great! I am VERY picky about hotels. My last trip to Miami I stayed at the Beacon, and I loved it...but the strand has given the beacon a run for its money in my book.

We stayed in the Tropical building room T303 which is the top floor and building is right beside the Versace Mansion (although I tried to get the Contemporary bldg).

The view was excellent....there was no noise at all. It was wonderful! Loved the kitchennette (although didnt use much besides the microwave and the fridge)

The cons: the small lobby, no business center (to use the computer if needed), the 4 buildings and walking in the small alley walkway to the tropical building was weird (I wish all buildings were connected some how

The pros: housekeeping was excellent, spacious, and too many others to list...
