I need help! I am going to be in Miami after a cruise, we get back into Miami in the AM and don't have to the airport until 8PM. It's my mom and I, so we like shopping and I really don't want to use multiple taxis to get to multiple destination. Where is a good location that we could stay for most of the day? We have been to South beach b4, by the way...Thanks for any advice!

Have you been to Coconut Grove/CocoWalk area? I think you'll enjoy it there or you can also go to the Dolphin Mall.

I am sorry, a little more information...We will be in Miami August 29th. My mom is not old, so she can walk around...The CocoWalk seems like something that I would be interested in. Is that something that we could do for a majority of the day? Is there anything else around there in walking distance? Any clue on how much a taxi would be from there to the airport?

CocoWalk opens around 10 a.m. and it does have a movie theater (just in case you get bored of shopping) and across the street is more shopping/dining area. I'm sorry but I have no idea how much the taxi ride costs. You might want to open another thread for that, someone with experience might be able to help.

There is another place closer to the port called Bayside. It is also a good place to hangout, lots of shops minus the movie theater.

I think you'll be happiest at the Dolphin Mall which has miles of outlet shops, dining, movies and is just a quick hop to the airport.

More upscale, but not as big, is Merrick Place in Coral Gables.
