We rent with www.historichideaways.com and find them to be excellent. I think $2,000 should be doable.

Just stay away from Compass Realty. They handle rentals inTruman Annex. We go twice a year and had a horrid experience with them last spring. Absolutely love Key West, but will never ever stay at Truman Annex again. We've been vacationing there for about ten years and much prefer the B&Bs. Have heard other rental companies offer cleaner more desirable units at Truman Annex. Compass Realty is not one of them.

Beaglerun2, please come back and let us know about your experience with Compass Realty. We have not used them and it seems Daisy was quite unhappy, but I'm hoping that was an unfortunate exception.

Cruisemom, we used Compass the last two years for our Shipyard rentals in Nov. We didn't have an issue with either unit being dirty etc. The people below us this year did however have a few issues, but mostly were owner related updating issues, not necessarily unclean. No matter what rental company you use it does pay to do research on a particular unit before renting. Ask questions and tell them what you need in a unit and they do try to steer you to the best they have, believe me (I'm a reservationist) they don't like getting yelled at.
