I'll try to update our trip daily, but no promises. there are a lot of questions about the Sun Pass.We went on line in March and opened an account with them.We opted for the Sun Pass Mini. All you have to do is use your current vehicle info to register.Later on, if you rent a car, you can update your vehicle info and put the Sun Pass on the windshield as per instructions. If you need to call them they are very nice and helpful. You can put a certain amount on the account and put a minimum amount to keep.If it drops below that amount they will automatically put more in your account.
Now,day one. We drove down from Virginia and stayed our first night in Islamorada. We stayed at the Post Card Inn. Reasonable rate nothing fancy. We liked the idea that they have four bars and you can walk around to all of them on the property. We at Dinner at Wahoo's bar and grill. The food was good and the service was great. We sat out back and look out over the ocean.A little pricey, but hey we're on vacation.
Day two. We went and ate breakfast at Mangrove Mike's. Outstanding breakfast. We got two eggs and they must have been Ostrich eggs.more food than we could eat and very reasonable.A must stop for breakfast. We then stayed that night at a bed and breakfast,Casa Thorn, nothing fancy but it served it's purpose. We wouldn't stay again, but it was ok. We ate dinner at Ma's fish house. It looks like a dive from the outside, but wow really good food.So far the best key lime pie we have had.fresh fish and very good smoked fish dip.We both would highly recommend. We then stopped at Lion's Lair. This is a store for the ladies. My wife loved them.Outstanding service and now that she has been fitted she can order her bathing suits and other stuff on line. A first class store with a large selection.
I'll post more in a bit. Sorry for the grammer.
