accomodations on Roosevelt Blvd - Key West

My husband and I will be in the Keys over Christmas. I am having a hard time finding a place to stay in Old Town because we are only spending two nights so, I thought I would look at the hotels on Roosevelt. Does anyone have any recomendations for that area? North vs. South? How far is it from Roosevelt Blvd. to the fun activities on Duval Street?Thanks

If you book on Roosevelt you better be a professional walker to Duval and all the fun.

You can get an all day pass for the Bone Island Shuttle. I believe it is $8.00 and some hotels offer discounts. It stops at most of the hotels every half hour and you can get off at Old Town by Mallory Square. Check with the hotels you are considering to see if they are on the route. I know that the Hampton Inn is.
