Which island for two 30 year olds?

hi. I'm 30 and wife is 29 and I've booked Key West accommodation for the 27th Feb for3 nights.

Our original plan was to then spend 2 nights in key largo and take a snorkelling trip to the jesus statue.

Just looking at accommodation around Largo - it almost looks like there isnt much to do there!

would we be better off trying to get another 2 nights in key west, or would staying in largo be a good plan OR should we consider staying in Marathon or Islamorada or similar.

what do we want? i suppose a relaxing place with nice restaurants, the occasional shops, a few bars and some snorkelling.

what would you recommend? thanks so much

I suggest the 4 1/2hr snorkel tour out of Pennekamp Park.

This place has been on my bucket list for some time...

getting there isnt cheap and Im not sure it would be in your budget.

Key West is the only Key thats going to have all you want in one place, the http://holidayisle.com/tikibar/ or http://www.hawkscay.com/ might be worth checking out.

Are you going to have a car? I don't know if price is an object but if you would have to rent a car to go somewhere else in the Keys, compare the cost of 2 more nights in KW versus the cost of accommodation elsewhere. Or consider a snorkel trip to Looe Reef instead, 30 minutes out of Key West. Maybe rent a car one day if you won't have one the whole time to go explore some of the other keys.
