Which hotel with no car ?

We will be flying in and taking a taxi to the hotel . We will not have a car.

This will be our first Beach trip ...we will mostly be hanging out at the beach ..we want to be within walking distance to the pier and eating places and other things we should not miss . We are so hoping to see some Dolphins.

Which hotel ....Best Western Beach Front or Four Points Sheraton ?

If you really plan not to have a car, I would stay at the Four Points Sheraton. You did not mention the time of year you are visiting. But if it is summer, it will be hot to walk too far. By staying at the Four Points you are near the board walk and the restaurants there. There are a few others, which would be a bit more of a walk. Fort Walton Beach and Destin are really areas where you would benefit from renting a car.

I would say Four Points, because it is more centrally located. Look into the OCT routes. You can hope a bus to Destin or FWB from Okaloosa Island if you want to venture past the beach for shopping, or dining. It's reasonable, it just doesn't run late in April.
