What's a good beachside hotel close to restuarants and bars?

What would be a good Ft. Myers Beach beachside hotel within walking distance to restaurants and bars? Is FMB a little touristy livier than Sanibel than Captiva? I guess we don't want things too quiet.

If it a hotel you want the Best Western on the northern part of the island and not far from Time Sq. which has many restaurant and entertainment, You might like to look at the Diamond Head Beach resort. Yes, FMB has more entertainment and bars with happy hrs. than S&C. TS is great for people watching. We enjoy taking a day trip over to S & C but prefer staying at FMB. There are many condos to rent if you are interested.

I second the BW Plus Beach Resort. All rooms are oceanfront, walking distance to most everything, and great breakfast. Can't wait to get back and stay again.

When? I also enjoy the South end. Outrigger and Holiday Inn, both with Live entertainment and More across the street at Villa Santini, Plaza-shops, Restaurants/Bars. Time Square has more but it still depends on When? For crowd control and non stop traffic :)

Thanks for your reply, "When?". Late Jan or early Feb. I suppose that would be near the peak season. It's the time of year we want to get away from the frigid North.

We just got home from a week at Casa Playa on the north end. Loved it. Great beach, nice room, and only a 10 minute walk to Time Square
